Ingredients/Materials:
Eggs
Milk or Cream
Nutmeg
Vanilla
Cardamom
Cinnamon
Butter
Bread
Wide,Shallow bowl or pie tin
Skillet (or two, or a griddle)
My Favorite Toppings:
Butter
Powdered Sugar
Syrup
Yogurt
Nuts
Berries
Instructions:
Beat together the eggs (start with three), a dash of cream, and the spices in your shallow dish. Soak both sides of a piece of bread in the mixture while you heat the skillet over a low flame and grease it with butter. Test how hot the skillet is by sprinkling water on it. When the water dances but doesn't vaporize immediately, your pan is ready.
Fry the soaked bread until browned on both sides. Keep the heat low so that it cooks all the way through. Repeat with as many pieces of bread as you want. Add an egg or a dash of cream to the mixture as needed. Serve hot, with your favorite toppings.
